اولیگو منوره بیماری شایعی با عوارض شناخته شده است که سال­ها پیش توسط حکمای طب ایرانی به تفصیل مورد بررسی و بحث قرار گرفته است. بوعلی سینا در کتاب معروف خود، قانون، در مبحثی با عنوان "اختناق رحمی"، یکی از عوارض مهم اولیگومنوره را بیان نموده است. در مقاله حاضر، سندروم فوق از دیدگاه طب سنتی ایران و نیز طب رایج مورد بررسی و بحث قرار گرفته است. این مبحث می­تواند به عنوان یک راهنمای اولیه برای تحقیق بیشتر با انجام مطالعات کارازمایی بالینی و اثبات آن توسط پژوهشگران مورد استفاده قرار گیرد تا در مراحل بعدی جهت اقدامات تشخیصی و درمانی برای بیمارانی که با این سندروم به درمانگاه­ها مراجعه می­نمایند مفید واقع شود.
