مقدمه: دیابت شایعترین بیماری غدد درون ریز است که اثرات نامطلوبی بر عملکرد دستگاه تناسلی مرد داراست. ژل رویال دارای اثر آنتی اکسیدانی و حفاظتی ضد دیابتی است
هدف: مطالعه حاضر به منظور ارزیابی اثر ژل رویال بر تغییرات هیستوپاتولوژی از بافت بیضه در موش صحرایی دیابتی شده با استرپتوزوتوسین انجام شد.
مواد و روشها: در این مطالعه تجربی، 28 موش صحرایی بالغ نژاد ویستار به طور تصادفی به گروههای کنترل (C) ژل رویال (R)، دیابتی (D) و دیابتی درمان شده با ژلرویال (D+R) تقسیم شدند. دیابت به وسیله یک تزریق منفرد داخل صفاقی استرپتوزتوسین با دوز mg/kg50 القاء شد. موشهای گروههای Rو D+R، روزانه mg/kg100 ژل رویال را به مدت 6 هفته دریافت کردهاند. رنک آمیزی H&E برای تعیین تغییرات پاتولوژیک بافت بیضه شامل ضخامت تونیکا آلبوژینه (TAT)، قطر لوله های منیساز (STsD)،معیار جانسون، شاخص های: تمایز لولهای (TDI)، اسپرماتوژنز (SPI)، سلول سرتولی (SCI)، میوز (MI) و سلول های ایمنی تک هستهای (MIC)استفاده شد. وضعیت آنتی اکسیدانی با سنجش سطح ظرفیت تام آنتیاکسیدان (FRAP) و کاتالاز (CAT)مشخص شدند.
نتایج: یافتههای هیستوپاتولوژیک در موشهای دیابتی، کاهش معنیداری در شاخص STsD، معیار جانسون ،TDI، SPI، SCI و MI و افزایش معنیدار در TAT و MIC داشتند، در حالیکه تجویز ژل رویال به طور معنیدار این تغییرات را معکوس نمود (05/0˂p). درمان با ژل رویال به طور قابل توجهی فعالیت آنزیم CAT و FRAP در بافت بیضه را افزایش داد. اختلاف معنیداری در سطوح FRAP بین گروههایC (5/0±13)، RJ (3/0 ±4/13)، D (6/0±8/7) و D+RJ (07/±4/12) وجود دارد(05/0˂p).
نتیجه گیری: ژل رویال اختلات بیضه ی ناشی از دیابت را احتمالاً از طریق خاصیت آنتیاکسیدانی بهبود می دهد.
