en آگاهی و نگرش به بیماری های ژنتیک و تست های ژنتیک در میان افراد پیش از ازدواج Knowledge and attitude toward genetic diseases and genetic tests among pre-marriage individuals: A cross-sectional study in northern Iran Original Article Original Article مقدمه: تستهای ژنتیکی برای بیماریهای ارثی زیادی معرفی شده است. در حالی که نگرش در جهت این امکانات در خیلی از کشورها ارزیابی شده است، گزارشهای کمی در مورد اطلاعات و آگاهی ایرانیان و جهتگیری آنها نسبت به این مسئله وجود دارد. هدف: مطالعه حاضر نگرش و آگاهی افراد قبل از ازدواج را نسبت به در دسترس بودن و استفاده از تستهای ژنتیکی بررسی میکند. موارد و روشها: یک پرسشنامه جامع بین 408 فرد در حال ازدواج بین 15 تا 43 سال توزیع گردید. سوالات شامل خصوصیات دموگرافیک همراه با گرفتن اطلاعات مربوط به آگاهی افراد، تحصیلات و نگرش آنها نسبت به تستهای ژنتیک میباشد. افراد بر اساس آگاهی به سه گروه تقسیم شدند 1) نمره 80 تا 100 ، گروه خوب 2) 60 تا 80 ، متوسط 3) کمتر از 60 به گروه ضعیف از نظر آگاهی. نتایج: اکثر شرکتکنندگان (86%) فکر میکردند که ازدواج فامیلی خطر بیماریهای ژنتیک را در فرزندان افزایش میدهد و 3/82% میدانستند که تالاسمی نوعی بیماری ژنتیکی است، اما تنها 3/33% میتوانستند بین تشخیص قبل از تولد PND با دیگر انواع تستهای آزمایشگاهی فرق بگذارند. ارتباط  بین آگاهی و سطح تحصیلات شرکت کنندگان (78/0- r=،0001/0p<)، سن (16/0- r=،01/0p<) و شهر نشینی (14/0- r=،049/0p<)  از نظر آماری معنیدار بود. همچنین یک رابطه برجستهای بین آگاهی (64/0- r=،001/0p<)، تحصیلات (62/0- r=،001/0p<)، و تمایل افراد به استفاده از تستهای ژنتیک قبل از جشن عروسی وجود داشته است. همبستگی معنیداری بین نگرش افراد و سن یا شهرنشینی بدست نیامده است. اکثر افراد موافق با تعیین زمانی برای مشاوره ژنتیک قبل از ازدواج بودند (94/0%). نتیجه گیری: نتایج این مطالعه نشان داد که اکثر افراد بررسی شده علاقهمند به استفاده از مشاوره ژنتیک و تستهای ژنتیکی قبل از ازدواج میباشند.   Background: Genetic testing has been widely introduced for many hereditary disorders. While the attitudes towards these facilities have been evaluated in many countries, there are only a few reports on the knowledge of and the orientation among Iranians. Objective: The current study assesses the attitudes and knowledge of pre-marriage individuals toward the availability and use of genetic tests. Materials and Methods: A comprehensive questionnaire was distributed among 408 marrying individuals. The questions addressed the demographic characteristics along the registration of participant's knowledge, education, and attitude toward genetic testing. The individuals were divided into three groups based on their knowledge: 1) Scored above 80 to 100 were defined as "good" 2) 60 to 80 as "average" 3) less than 60 as "poor" knowledge. Result: Most participants (86%) believed consanguineous marriages increase the risk of genetic diseases; 82.3% knew that thalassemia is a type of genetic disease, only 33.3% could distinguish prenatal diagnosis (PND) from other laboratory tests. The relationship between the participants' knowledge and their level of education was significant (r= 0.78, p< 0.001), age (r= -0.16, p< 0.01), and urbanity (p< 0.01). A prominent relationship was observed between the knowledge (r= 0.64, p< 0.001) or education (r= 0.62, p< 0.001) and people’s desire to use the genetic tests before the wedding ceremony. No significant correlations were found between the participant’s attitude and their ages/urbanity. Most of the individuals agreed to arrange a genetic counseling before marriage (0.94%). Conclusion: This study revealed that most individuals were interested in using genetic counseling services and genetic tests before marriage.     نگرش, آگاهی, تست های ژنتیک, مشاوره ژنتیک, تشخیص قبل از تولد.
