مقدمه: حاملگی در نوجوانی و تولد نوزاد در ارتباط با افزایش ریسک و خطر برای هم مادر و هم نوزاد است.
هدف: این مطالعه به بررسی ارتباط تغییرات رشد در طی زمان با عوامل مرتبط با والدین می­پردازد و تفاوت­های بین فرزندان مادران نوجوان و مادران بزرگسال در نایوان را بررسی می­کند.
مواد و روش­ها: اطلاعات به دست آمده از مطالعه کوهورت تولد در تایوان TBCS جمع آوری شد بوسیله مصاحبه توسط پرسشنامه استاندارد، شناسنامه و دفترچه مراقبت­های سلامت نوزادان تغییرات وزن بدن، قد و دور سر از تولد تا 18 ماهگی به علاوه متغیرهای دیگر مطالعه شد.
نتایج: میزان تولد از مادران نوجوان 4/13% در سال 2005 بود. میزان بالاتری از شیردهی و کار کردن در مادران بزرگسال دیده شد (0/001˂p). در نقطه مقابل درصد بالاتری از مادران نوجوان مراقبت نوزادان خود را تا 18 ماهگی عهده دار بودند (0/001˂p). نوزادان متولد شده از مادران نوجوان به طور معنی داری دارای وزن، قد و دور سر کمتری بودند در حالیکه شیب رشد این پارامترها در هر دو گروه مشابه بود. شیر دادن در 6 ماه اول به طور معنی داری بر روی رشد تأثیر نداشت. مدل سازی GEE نشان داد که جنس و تولد زودرس می تواند به عنوان عوامل پیش گویی کننده عوارض تولد و تغییرات رخ داده در طی زمان باشد.
نتیجه­گیری: زایمان در دوران نوجوانی در ارتباط با تولد زودرس و وزن بدن، قد و دور سر کمتر از زمان تولد تل 18 ماهگی می­باشد. تغییرات رشد و نمو در نوزادان متولد شده از مادران نوجوان نیاز به بررسی و تحلیل بیشتری در TBCS دارد.
