مقدمه: سزارین هیسترکتومی یک روش جراحی نجات‌بخش است که در شرایط اورژانسی مامایی، به‌ویژه در موارد خونریزی غیرقابل کنترل، جفت سرراهی و چسبندگی غیرطبیعی جفت انجام می‌شود.
هدف: این مطالعه با هدف بررسی ویژگی‌های جمعیت‌شناختی مادر، عوامل بالینی  مرتبط، عوارض و پیامدهای نوزادی در سزارین هیسترکتومی انجام شده است.
مواد و روش ­ها: در این مطالعه توصیفی-گذشته‌نگر، داده‌های ۸۹ زن که بین سال‌های ۲۰۱۳ تا ۲۰۲۲ در بیمارستان صیاد شیرازی گرگان، ایران، تحت سزارین هیسترکتومی قرار گرفتند، از پرونده‌های پزشکی آن‌ها استخراج گردید. استخراج داده‌ها با استفاده از چک‌لیستی ساختاریافته انجام شد که شامل متغیرهای جمعیت‌شناختی مادر، بیماری‌های زمینه‌ای، وضعیت جفت، پیامدهای جراحی و نتایج نوزادی بود.
نتایج: میانگین سن مادران 2/5 ± 65/34 سال، شاخص توده بدنی 4/3 ± 78/28 کیلوگرم بر مترمربع و سن حاملگی 2/3 ± 54/34 هفته بود. جفت سرراهی در 6/88 % موارد مشاهده شد. شایع‌ترین زیرگروه‌های اختلالات طیف چسبندگی جفت به ترتیب شامل جفت اینکرتا (1/46%)، جفت آکرتا (2/29%) و جفت پرکرتا (21/3%) بودند. سطح هموگلوبین قبل و بعد از عمل به‌ترتیب 8/1 ± 2/11 و 56/1 ± 15/8 گرم بر دسی‌لیتر بود. نیاز به تزریق خون در 4/94% موارد وجود داشت. بستری در بخش مراقبت‌های ویژه در 3/93% موارد ضروری بود و میانگین مدت بستری 11/0 ± 01/2 روز گزارش شد. آسیب حین عمل به ارگان‌ها در 20/2 % موارد رخ داد. میانگین وزن تولد نوزادان ۶۸۲ ± 61/2414 گرم بود و 1/68% از نوزادان نیاز به بستری در بخش مراقبت‌های ویژه نوزادان داشتند که عمدتاً به دلیل نارسایی بود. هیچ مورد مرگ مادری یا نوزادی رخ نداد.
نتیجه­ گیری: جفت سرراهی و اختلالات طیف چسبندگی جفت مهم‌ترین عوامل خطر برای سزارین هیسترکتومی هستند. آمادگی کافی، از جمله ذخایر کافی فرآورده‌های خونی و دسترسی به بخش‌های مراقبت ویژه و مراقبت ویژه نوزادان، برای مدیریت این موارد پرخطر ضروری است. به‌عنوان یک مطالعه توصیفی بدون گروه مقایسه، یافته‌های این مطالعه الگوهای مشاهده‌شده را منعکس می‌کنند و نباید به‌عنوان ارتباطات علّی تفسیر شوند.
